Call for Papers: i-com Special Issue on Generative AI for Interactive Systems
The i-com Journal invites submissions for a special issue on the topic of Generative AI for Interactive Systems. Generative models increasingly influence how people interact with digital technologies. They shape new forms of collaboration, creativity, accessibility, and decision-making. At the same time, they introduce open questions regarding reliability, transparency, user understanding, and responsible development.
Generative AI systems are now embedded in productivity tools, creative workflows, conversational agents, virtual environments, and physical interfaces. These developments challenge established interaction paradigms and require new perspectives on how to design, evaluate, and govern such systems. We need more research in the domain of human-computer interaction to understand how generative models influence user behavior, how users form trust and expectations, how designers can create transparent and controllable interfaces, and how these technologies impact broader societal and ethical dimensions.
This special issue brings together high-quality research that offers empirical insights, theoretical foundations, design approaches, or technical perspectives on generative AI in interactive systems. We welcome contributions that critically examine opportunities, risks, and future directions.
